22702VIC & 22578VIC – First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis Course & Management of Asthma Risks & Emergencies in the Workplace
Our streamlined online training platform lets you finish the theory component at your own pace, from the comfort of your home or workplace.
After completing your online theory, our experienced team will guide you through a brief 1.5-hour practical session—then you're certified!
Choose what works best for you: we can come to your workplace, or you can attend a practical session at one of our convenient training venues.
This bundled program includes two courses that equip you with the skills and knowledge to respond effectively to medical emergencies. You will learn how to assist someone experiencing an anaphylactic reaction until professional help arrives, as well as how to deliver asthma-related first aid in the workplace and create a practical asthma management plan.
Assessment includes 10 multiple choice questions along with practical procedures for CPR on a manikin in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines and the Health Training Package. Alternative assessments can be made (eg. Oral).
Our self-paced online assessment allows you to complete the theory component of your first aid training at a time that suits you. Work through the interactive modules on any device, review the material as often as you need, and progress at your own pace. Once finished, you’ll simply attend the practical session to demonstrate your skills and receive your nationally accredited certificate.
The 22556VIC & 22300VIC Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate is valid for 3 years from the date of issue. However, many schools and workplaces recommend annual refresher training to maintain confidence and emergency response skills. Refreshers can be completed through Accelerate First Aid
The combined course takes around 4 hours online plus 1.5 hours face-to-face. Training covers both theory and hands-on practice, ensuring you’re confident in managing asthma emergencies and severe allergic reactions in a time-efficient format.
This course is mandatory for education and care service workers, including teachers, childcare educators, and after-school care staff. It’s also highly recommended for sports coaches, youth workers, disability support staff, and anyone who may need to respond to asthma or anaphylaxis.
You’ll gain practical skills to:
Recognise asthma and anaphylaxis symptoms
Use asthma relievers and spacers
Administer adrenaline auto-injectors (EpiPens)
Follow emergency action plans
Communicate effectively with emergency services
Maintain accurate documentation
The course covers both prevention strategies and emergency response procedures.
No prior qualifications are required. Participants should have basic English skills to follow emergency procedures and be able to handle devices such as auto-injectors and spacers. If you have concerns about accessibility or requirements, please contact us.
