HLATID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
UETDRRF018 Perform rescue from a live LV panel
Our streamlined online training platform lets you finish the theory component at your own pace, from the comfort of your home or workplace.
After completing your online theory, our experienced team will guide you through a brief 1.5-hour practical session—then you're certified!
Choose what works best for you: we can come to your workplace, or you can attend a practical session at one of our convenient training venues.
This course provides the essential skills and knowledge required to safely perform rescue procedures from live Low Voltage (LV) equipment, along with CPR training.
The Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) Package has recently been updated. If you do not hold an Electrotechnology Certificate, you must now complete one of the following prerequisite units to gain CPR/LVR accreditation:
UEECD0007
UETDRL006
These prerequisite units are mandatory for participants who do not currently hold an Electrical Licence.
Assessment includes 10 multiple choice questions along with practical procedures for CPR on a manikin in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines and the Health Training Package. Alternative assessments can be made (eg. Oral).
Our self-paced online assessment allows you to complete the theory component of your first aid training at a time that suits you. Work through the interactive modules on any device, review the material as often as you need, and progress at your own pace. Once finished, you’ll simply attend the practical session to demonstrate your skills and receive your nationally accredited certificate.
The UETDRRF018 Low Voltage Rescue qualification is valid for 12 months and must be renewed annually to remain compliant with industry standards and workplace safety requirements. Both initial training and refresher courses are available through Accelerate First Aid.
The course runs for approximately 2 hours, split between 1 hour of theory and 1 hour of practical training. This streamlined format delivers all required content efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime from work while maintaining full compliance.
LVR training is compulsory for electrical workers including electricians, contractors, solar installers, and anyone working on or near low voltage electrical systems. It is also a requirement in industries with electrical risk exposure such as construction, mining, and industrial maintenance.
You’ll develop critical skills such as:
Hazard and risk assessment in electrical environments
Safe approach and response to live electrical incidents
Correct rescue techniques using insulated equipment
CPR and AED (defibrillator) use in electrical emergencies
Emergency response and safety protocols specific to electrical work
If you hold an Electrical Licence, you can enrol directly. If not, you must complete UEECD0007 or UETDRL006 before undertaking CPR/LVR training. Basic English skills are required, and participants should be physically capable of performing CPR and rescue procedures. Current CPR certification (HLTAID009) is recommended but included within the course if not already held.
Yes. The UETDRRF004 course is nationally accredited and fully compliant with Australian Standards, WHS legislation, and electrical safety regulations. It meets requirements set by Energy Networks Australia and state safety regulators.
Participants will use industry-standard safety gear, including insulated rescue equipment, CPR manikins, AED trainers, and PPE. Realistic rescue scenarios are used to ensure hands-on, practical learning.
Please bring photo ID and wear suitable work clothing for practical activities. If you own personal PPE, you are welcome to bring it, though all necessary equipment is provided. Steel-cap boots are recommended but not required.
Assessment includes both theory and practical components. You’ll need to demonstrate competence in CPR, rescue techniques, use of safety equipment, and emergency response protocols. A written assessment will confirm understanding of key safety requirements.
Yes. Most employers cover the cost of LVR training as it is a mandatory workplace safety requirement. The course is often tax-deductible for electrical professionals. Check with your employer regarding their training reimbursement or funding policies.
