Purpose
First Aid Alive is committed to providing a safe, respectful, professional, and inclusive learning environment for all learners, staff, contractors, and visitors. This Code of Conduct outlines the expected standards of behaviour when participating in training, assessment, and workplace activities conducted by First Aid Alive.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to:
- Trainers and assessors
- Learners and course participants
- Administrative staff
- Contractors and third parties involved in training delivery
Expected Standards of Behaviour
All individuals are expected to:
- Treat others with respect, fairness, and professionalism
- Follow all workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and instructions
- Participate honestly and responsibly in training and assessment activities
- Respect the rights, privacy, and confidentiality of others
- Communicate appropriately and professionally at all times
- Follow trainer instructions and organisational procedures
- Use training equipment and facilities safely and appropriately
- Arrive on time and actively participate in learning activities
- Maintain a learning environment free from bullying, harassment, discrimination, and disruptive behaviour
Workplace Health and Safety
All participants must:
- Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others
- Report hazards, incidents, injuries, or unsafe behaviour immediately
- Follow emergency procedures and evacuation instructions
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) where required
Academic Integrity
Learners are expected to:
- Submit their own work during assessment activities
- Avoid plagiarism, cheating, or falsifying assessment evidence
- Participate fairly in practical and simulated assessment activities
Any breach of academic integrity may result in reassessment, withdrawal from the course, or reporting in accordance with organisational procedures.
Discrimination, Bullying and Harassment
First Aid Alive has zero tolerance for:
- Discrimination
- Bullying
- Harassment
- Sexual harassment
- Victimisation
All individuals have the right to feel safe, respected, and supported within the learning environment.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Personal information collected by First Aid Alive will be managed in accordance with privacy legislation and organisational policies. Participants must respect the confidentiality of learners, staff, and workplace information.
Use of Digital Technology and Social Media
Participants must:
- Use digital devices respectfully during training sessions
- Not record training, assessments, or individuals without permission
- Avoid inappropriate or offensive content on social media that may impact the reputation of First Aid Alive
Breaches of the Code of Conduct
Any breach of this Code of Conduct may result in:
- Verbal or written warnings
- Removal from training sessions
- Cancellation of enrolment or services
- Further action in line with organisational policies and procedures
Review
This Code of Conduct will be reviewed regularly to ensure it remains current, effective, and aligned with legislative and organisational requirements.
